The secret to outdoor training in any weather is a simple 3-layer system:

  • 1. Base Layer โ€“ Wicks sweat away from your skin
  • 2. Mid Layer โ€“ Traps heat (optional on milder days)
  • 3. Outer Shell โ€“ Blocks wind and rain

Get these right and you'll be comfortable from frosty January mornings to drizzly October sessions.

โš ๏ธ The "Huge Puffer Jacket" Mistake

Don't wear your big winter coat to bootcamp! You'll overheat within 5 minutes and be drenched in sweat. Light, breathable layers are the key.

โ›” NEVER wear cotton. It gets wet with sweat and stays cold against your skin.

Your base layer should be synthetic (polyester) or merino wool โ€” materials that wick moisture away and dry quickly.
